System Requirements and Limitations

Production Output Limitations

  • Supported output colorspaces: RGB and CMYK.
  • Supported output formats: PDF, JPEG.
  • CMYK output file has default color profile set to WebCoatedFOGRA28.icc. It can be tweaked to another one on request.

We recommend operating LiveArt observing the below limitations:

  • Max user image upload - 8Mb. Accepted formats are JPG, PNG, GIF, or SVG. Formats like PDF, AI or EPS are available as an add-on.
  • Max size for default production output:
PDF RGBJPEG CMYKPDF CMYK
Current limits are 320Mpx, printed as 60“ (~1.5m) with 1:1 ratio at 300dpi.For 125 dpi, the max we support is ~36 sq m and 10 m per image side. Limit depends on the required dpi and complexity of designs. The current limitation is no more than 100mb output size. The PDF CMYK support requires purchasing a separate account on DocRaptor.

We recommend sending us a couple of your designs to run tests. Shall you require larger production output or specific setup for your industry, please contact us for RFC and quote.

CMYK Support Limitations

To ensure the best color fidelity when using LiveArt, please consider the following limitations regarding CMYK color handling:

  1. Color Gallery Settings. By default, the color gallery in the admin panel operates in the RGB colorspace. The ability to define and use CMYK colors is available as an add-on.
  2. Image Uploads. LiveArt has specific handling for different file formats during both user customization and admin template creation:
    • When a user uploads a JPEG with an embedded CMYK profile, the image is rendered with the expected colors in the designer (however, it depends on OS default profiles, monitor, etc.). The original CMYK values are preserved in the JPEG CMYK output.
    • For any other format uploads such as PNG, PDF, TIFF, etc. in CMYK, the colors will be converted to RGB, as these formats do not support CMYK color spaces within LiveArt by default. The displayed colors in designer may not match the original CMYK colors. RGB colors will be converted to CMYK when preparing print outputs.
    • SVG CMYK is not supported by browsers yet and SVG standard is RGB/hex. The displayed colors in designer may not match the original CMYK colors. RGB colors will be converted to CMYK when preparing print outputs.

Important Note: Converting images from CMYK to RGB and back to CMYK can cause color shifts, leading to variations between the original image and the final printed output.
